  1. How do you know about the Nikon focus breathing issue? In your video, you talked about specifically what you are getting millimeter wise, How do you know what this is? Are You using some sort of calibration tool? Are you just looking at a comparison lens Versus lens on your screen? I have the Nikon 70-200 verII so I am little interested and concerned.

  2. So as a drag racing photographer, I have a 5d Mk III but my only telephoto is a 70-200 f2.8 v1. Should I get a telephoto (either 1.4x or 2) for the 70-200 or should I get the 120-300? I may also get one for the 120-300 if I get it.

  3. Thank you for the review Tony & Chelsea. I am concidering this lens as my next purchase, but am unable to find a review that covers a scenario on how I would be using the lens. I would like your opinion about this lenses focus and sharpness capabilities of images under these conditions and gear:
    -Canon 7d mk ii
-Sigma 120-300 S (lens reviewed here)
-Friday Night Lights (or other night time high school sports)
    -ISO 6400
    -1/500 minimum shutter
    -wide open at f2.8

I currently shoot a Canon 70-200 is ii, if you could compare the focus speed and sharpness under the same conditions it would be very helpful.

Thank you for everything you do for the photo community.

I apologize for any typos. I typed this out in my smartphone.

  4. So, Tony…when is Sigma going to release an "art" series successor to their old EX 100-300/4.0? They have the 12-24/4.0 art, the 24-105/4.0 art…all is missing is the 100-300/4.0 art to have a complete set of high quality zooms covering all the focal length spectrum. This 120-300/2.8 is bulky and super expensive. I would think that a max 1500$ 100-300/4.0 art lens would have a following!

  5. Have you guys ever tested the 180mm 2.8 lenses in replacement of the 70-200 for Nikon? I know Nikon has finally fixed it won the 70-200 E lens but it’s about 2600 I want to say.

  6. Help Question I am a hobby bird photographer and want to buy a secondhand tele prime on my Nikon D500I having the 300mm f4 but want more length Like the 500mm f4 of the 400.2.8 with the tc 1.4 on it.But is it wise to buy a Nikon 300mm 2.8 vr ii with the latest tc 2.0 III (600mm on f5.6) on it because it’s cheaper and you are more mobile with it.Do you lose a lot of sharpness with this combination?
And i can also sell the Nikon 300mm f4 so i have extra money for it. (On this lens i had the tc. 1.4 and it wasn’t great). There’s is not that much to find on this combination. On the internet some people says it’s better to go for the 500 and some people says it’s a great combination the 300 with the tc on it.

  7. Focus breathing???? use view finder or pc screen tethered to see image! How sharp and colour matter more, depth of field required for effect? another garbage pointless vid
