Before winter hits, take one last trip to the country with composer Armen Bazarian

Armen Bazarian is the artist who’s leading the way. A former composer-in-residence at the Canadian Film Centre, he’s a musician who scores commercials and web series in addition to developing his own personal projects. (He tells CBC Arts that he’ll be releasing a single called “Brothers” later this fall.)

But to recharge, Bazarian drives out to his place in Coe Hill, Ont., roughly 70 km northeast of Peterborough. Director Adam Crosby followed Bazarian to the woodsy spot.

“There’s something about being isolated that forces you to close in on yourself,” Bazarian says in the short. “It’s this deeper connection with my senses and how they interact with the environment that feeds into the creative decisions and explorations that I make.”
